Saving Lives during the COVID 19 Crisis
As strategic advisory during the COVID-19 response, we played a key role in supporting high profile clients across Whitehall. Our wargaming expertise shaped the multi-agency response to UK protests. Inspired by these experiences, we began researching how wargaming and deeper action inquiry and methods could enhance preparedness and decision-making for future national and international crises.
Optimising a multi-billion-pound technology transformation
Our client, a public funding organisation, embarked on a major digital transformation to streamline business functions, aiming to enhance efficiency and reduce bureaucracy. However, the programme faced delays, rising colleague anxiety, and leadership challenges contributing to large scale financial and reputational risk. To reset the team and boost morale, our Strategic Orbits Exercise was introduced. This simulated real challenges, encouraging creative problem-solving, collaboration, and healthy competition. The programme team, revitalised by this exercise, regained focus, drove high performance, and successfully delivered the programme, securing long-term organisational benefits ahead of the crucial winter release.
Helping Clients Foster Workplace Inclusion
Our client was facing challenges in making inclusivity and awareness of hidden diversity a natural part of their daily work. To address this, we introduced the Strategic Orbits Exercise, applying a deep story approach that helped employees visualise relationships in 3D. This allowed them to recognise how hidden diversity often influences interactions at different levels; visible and invisible, within the workplace environment. By using this human-centred approach, we were able to inspire meaningful change on personal, team, and organisational levels, which led to greater awareness, dignity and respect for hidden diversity.
